Working with the award-winning interior design agency GA Design, Studio Ted Todd created bespoke wooden flooring for the Corinthia Hotel London, a 21st century five star hotel on Whitehall Place in the heart of the city. With more than 250 rooms and suites along with London’s largest spa and wellness centre, Corinthia Hotel is one of the most exclusive hotels in the capital.
Studio Ted Todd created bespoke floors for the Corinthia Hotel’s signature suites and five-storey spa area spanning treatment rooms, a relaxation area and gym. Each suite had a different design – including end grain, herringbone, Parquet de Versailles and bleached herringbones – so this was an extensive and detailed project for our team. For quick and easy execution, all floors were hand finished off-site. We also produced the stair treads and risers to perfectly match the floor.
Once we’d completed the hotel project, we were commissioned to work on the adjoining Corinthia residences. Working alongside the design agency, we created all flooring throughout the 14 apartments, each ranging from £15m to £30m in sales value.
This was a fantastic project for Studio Ted Todd, GA Design and the Hotel. GA Design went on to win several awards for their work on the interior, including:
- Winner, Hotel Over 200 Room category – The International Hotel & Property Awards 2012
- Best Suite for the Whitehall Penthouse – European Hotel Design Awards 2012
- Best for Ambience & Design – Conde Nast Gold List 2012
